Assortment Planning:
Supports Merchandise Planner on brand target setting in Merchandise Financial Planning (MFP) and Assortment Planning
Contributes to defining upcoming seasons’ assortment strategies and plan
Provides input on store clustering / sub clustering and assigned store preferences
Deep dives into each option within each Department at sub-class level to determine an initial pick of what options to buy, in what quantities, in what sizes, and what preferred colors
Buying and Negotiation:
Develops pricing of options in-line with brand partners’ suggestions and intake margin targets
Performs Buying Trips to select brand assortments in-line with assortment plan and local trends
Negotiates prices and details of deliveries (Receipt Plan) with brand partners
Provides training to colleagues on upcoming brand collection, product details and recent trends
Monitoring In-Season Performance:
Follows-up on the delivery process by coordinating with the brand partners, and informs line manager on issues faced with shipments
Monitors the sales and sell-through of collection at style level within each Department and recommends cohesive actions to Merchandise Planner (e.g. place collections on markdowns)
Monitoring Competition and Market Trends:
Performs competitive shopping to study competitors’ collections and assortment strategies
Develops a monthly “Competitive Shopping” report to document competitors’ price ranges by sub-class
Tracks national and international Fashion market trends by consistently following Fashion-related news and reports
